Privacy, Said Plainly

What we keep, what we don't, and how we treat the things you tell us when you call or visit this site.

Last refreshed: 2026

1. The Quick Version

You call us or land on this site, and inevitably a few bits of information change hands. This page lays out what those bits are, why we'd ever look at them, and the limits we keep around them. Read it once and you'll know where we stand.

2. What Ends Up on Our Side

Two flavors, roughly:

Stuff you actually hand us.

  • A name when you give one
  • A phone number — usually the one you're calling from
  • An email address if you send a note
  • Whatever you decide to share during a call, a form, or a message

Stuff your browser hands us in the background.

  • Which browser and device you're on
  • An IP address (helps us tell humans from bots)
  • Basic page-view crumbs — what pages, how long, that sort of thing

3. Why We'd Ever Open Those Files

Short list, no surprises:

  • To actually help you with the reason you called
  • To reply when you write in
  • To spot what's slow or broken on the site
  • To keep tidy records of who we spoke with and about what
  • To shut down anyone trying to abuse the line or the site

4. We Don't Sell Your Information

Not to advertisers, not to data brokers, not to anyone offering a check. The only times anything we hold leaves our side:

  • A trusted vendor that runs part of our phone, hosting, or email gear needs it to do their job
  • A subpoena, court order, or other binding legal request lands on our desk
  • We need to defend against fraud, abuse, or someone trying to break things

5. Just to Be Clear About Who We Are

We're an independent third-party service. We do not work for any specific utility company, energy supplier, or government office, and we don't speak on their behalf. Anything we share on a call is general guidance — not a binding decision from your provider.

6. Other Companies in the Loop

To keep the site online and the phones working, we lean on a handful of outside services for things like hosting, analytics, and call tools. Those companies see only what they need to and have their own privacy rules.

If you click a link that takes you off our site, you're playing by the destination's policy at that point — not ours.

7. Keeping Things Safe

We put sensible technical and operational safeguards around what we hold, but no system anywhere is bulletproof. We'd be misleading you if we promised zero risk, so we won't.

8. What You Can Ask For

Depending on where you live, you may be able to:

  • Find out what we have on file about you
  • Ask us to fix something we got wrong
  • Ask us to delete what we're keeping
  • Tell us to stop certain uses of your data

Drop us a line at the contact info below and we'll walk through it.

9. Kids

This helpline is built for adults handling adult-shaped problems. We're not aiming any of it at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you think a child shared something with us, let us know and we'll take care of it.

10. When This Page Changes

If the way we handle data shifts, this page changes with it — and the date at the top moves forward. Pop back any time to see what's current.
